HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO PROTECT MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?

The current COVID-19 pandemic is really unprecedented, but the global response draws on the important lessons learned from other previous disease outbreaks happened over the past several decades. However, this Novel Coronavirus is a very different pandemic that has drastically affected our daily lives and lifestyles. The detailed studies have now quantified the increased risk this COVID-19 virus poses to those who have weak immune systems like older people, men, and other groups.

Concept Of Covid-19 In Red Background

For every 1,000 people infected with the coronavirus who are under the age of 50, it is proved that almost none will die. For people in their fifties and early sixties, only about five will die and more probably men than compared to women. The risk then climbs steeply as the years accrue. For every 1,000 people in their mid-seventies or older who are infected,  the risk is increasingly high of around 116 will die. These are the stark statistics that are obtained by some of the first detailed studies into the mortality risk for COVID-19.

Coronavirus

Hence, it is proved practically and the studies reveal that age is by far the strongest predictor of an infected person’s risk of dying which is metric and it is known as the infection fatality ratio IFR), which is actually the proportion of people infected with this Noval coronavirus, including those who did not get tested yet or show symptoms, who will die as a result of ignorance. so, therefore COVID-19 is not only just hazardous for elderly people, but it is extremely dangerous for people in their age of mid-fifties, the sixties, and seventies. Besides this, Gender is also a strong risk factor, with men are almost twice more likely to die from this Novel coronavirus than women. And differences between countries in the fatality estimates for older age groups suggest that the risk of dying from coronavirus is also linked to underlying health conditions like the capacity of health-care systems and whether the virus has spread among people living in elderly-care facilities.

So, What do you think about your opinions about what are the possibilities of protecting the most vulnerable people?
